Placing Your Advert - Proper Ad Description
Getting the description of an ad right is vital to appeal to the person interested in whatever it is that you are selling or requesting. There is the short description or title which is what is displayed and seen by anyone carrying out a search of the ads placed on the site.
Given the limited number of letters permitted for the short title it is important that you describe your product or service accurately whilst making it interesting to any potential buyer. The short title of the ad should also include a key word of the product you are selling. E.g. Nike golf clubs.
It will assist our search engine to pick out your product should anyone key in and search for Nike golf products.
Placing Your Advert - Uploading Your Photos
- We allow you to upload up to 4 photos
- In the Place your Ad section of our website you will be asked to click on the Browse button and from there you can select the photos you want to use.
- Press OK and add your photos.
Remember to select the main photo which will be the one that appears the largest and will be used and seen when anyone interested browses the ads on our site.
The photos that you send through to us will be automatically cropped to fit our frames.
Placing Your Advert - Your Contact Details
When you are placing an ad on the site you will be asked to create your account. You can decide at this point whether you want to have your telephone number or email address or both shown as part of your ad details.
Some people would prefer not to show either and this is also catered for within your account details and can be amended by editing the information you insert when setting up your account with us.
Amending / Removing / Renewing your Advert
To amend / remove / renew your ad you will need to go into Your Account. It is simply a case of clicking on the function you want to carry out and confirm you want to carry it out.
In the case where you have multiple ads on our site then you will be asked to confirm which of these you want to edit.
Links Within Adverts
We do not permit the any links to other websites to be included as part of a classified ad.
Site Tips and Trading Safely
- NEVER send cash in the post.
- NEVER pay anyone any form of advance payment with a promise to get you a sale.
- NEVER give your personal or banking information to anyone via the Internet
- If you are purchasing a car then check with the Hire Purchase Register (Ph: 01 2600905) that the car
is not under a Hire Purchase agreement.
Check the car history, there are a number of Irish online services:MyWheels, Cartell, Motorcheck.
Go to the Citizens Information website which will tell you how to transfer the ownership of a car.
Bring a mechanic with you if you are considering purchasing a motor of any kind to check it out.
Ask for NCT details and when the next test is due
